This process if not interrupted can cause fibrosis to appear and over the years <strong>20% may end up in liver cirrhosis and 2% liver cancer<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-19329bf elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"19329bf\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-25c2cf65\" data-id=\"25c2cf65\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-43bb3e1c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"43bb3e1c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Causes of fatty liver<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-55032b18 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"55032b18\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The frequent causes that generate a fatty liver are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Obesity \/ overweight<\/strong>: a person is considered obese if their body mass index (BMI) is calculated by dividing the weight by the height in cm squared: for example for a person of 85 kg and 1.70 m the BMI: 1.70 \u00d7 1.70 = 2.89, 85 \/ 2.89 = 29.4) is greater than or equal to 30. Between 29.9 and 25 is considered overweight and below 25, normal.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alcohol<\/strong>: there is a risk of liver damage with a daily alcohol intake of 20-25 grams (women) or 35-40 grams (men). If the daily consumption of alcohol exceeds 60 grams for more than 5 years, cirrhosis develops. It is important to note that most patients do <strong>not have symptoms because they have fatty liver.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In ultrasound, it is diagnosed by increasing the contrast of the liver in relation to the kidney. It should be noted that ultrasound, despite being a very reliable tool for the diagnosis of fatty liver, is not capable of diagnosing it in all cases. For this reason, in case of <strong>fatty liver<\/strong>, you should go <strong>regularly to the hepatologist<\/strong> to review the evolution and possible increase in dose of drugs or change them.
